Meet the BABE team!

Zoie Drake - BS, IBCLC, CIMI

“Over the last few years, I have loved teaching parents the tools of massage, movement, and stretching and their many benefits. It was that passion to equip parents to be and feel their best that led me to becoming an IBCLC. I am so excited to work with families at BABE and support your goals with feeding and lactation!”

- Zoie Drake, IBCLC at BABE

My journey in finding myself excitedly pursuing a career in lactation consulting has been different than most. I married my husband, a chemical engineer, in 2018. During the pandemic, we started our family off with our pup Luna, a doofy bernedoodle. A year later we started the process to become licensed foster parents and have had our first placement ever since. When my foster daughter was first placed with my husband and me, I obviously didn't lactate or breastfeed, but I did experience the stress and chaos of becoming a new parent in the blink of an eye. This experience of figuring out how to be a parent and feel confident and equipped further fueled my passion and drive to be the encourager we all need as parents.

I have always loved children and have been great with kids. What started as babysitting and nannying as a teen led me to graduate from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Development. From there, I started my first big girl job supporting hospitalized children and families at Texas Children's Hospital. I had the opportunity to work in areas like the Heart Center and NICU and found a love for supporting and encouraging parents. It was my experience with hospitalized infants that led me to get certified as an Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI).

That passion and joy kept growing so I started my own company, Bloom & Grow Classes, teaching baby massage and baby yoga. Over the last few years, I have loved teaching parents the tools of massage, movement, and stretching and their many benefits. It was that passion to equip parents to be and feel their best that led me to become an IBCLC. I am so excited to connect with families at BABE and support parents with feeding and lactation!

“It’s so important to get help early on with your breastfeeding concerns. You don’t have to tough it out on your own and I’m so glad I got the support I needed at BABE.”
